Xiàngqí (Chinese Chess)

Xiàngqí yǒu hěn duō jué sè. Tā mén shì: jiàng (hēi sè) huò zhě shuài (hóng sè), shì, xiàng, mǎ, jū, pào, zú (hēi sè) huò zhě bīng (hóng sè).

Translation

Xiangqi has many roles. They are: general (black) or marshall (red), advisor, elephant, horse, chariot, cannon, pawn (black) or soldier (red).

Xiàngqí zài qípán shàng yídòng. Qípán wéi shí háng shí liè.

Translation

Xiangqi moves ontop of a chessboard. The board is ten rows by ten columns.

Wánjiā lúnliú yídòng qízǐ. Dāng yī míng jiāng bèi fúlǔ, yóuxì jiéshù.

Translation

Players take turns moving pieces. The game ends when a general is captured.

Wǒ zuì xǐhuān de kāijú shì dāng tóu pào. Jiē xiàlái shì yídòng mǎ. Zhè jiù shì suǒ wèi de dāng tóu pào, mǎ lái tiào.

Translation

My favorite opening move is central cannon. This is followed by moving the horse. This is called dāng tóu pào, mǎ lái tiào.
